this is a great scene because it plays with your expectations. The first time I read this I was kinda surprised-usually in movies and T.V shows when the more experienced character figures out stuff about the rookies background the rookie is the one who has to answer for themselves. But in real life you would be absolutely justified in yelling at someone who looked into your history without any real cause to do so. Brilliant!

I honestly can’t remember whether I was thinking about it from that angle while I was working on the scene, but you’re totally right! especially in cop dramas, it always seems like complaints about privacy violations are just kinda brushed aside…which is some real BS, as you say!
